I regret that I never had the good fortune to meet Peter, but we communicated via email and the occasional telephone call for several years. As the individual responsible for ensuring the entry on the C-130 Hercules in Jane’s All the World’s Aircraft was as up-to-date as it could possibly be, our association was largely a professional one. In that respect, it was always a pleasure to deal with Peter – because he always came up with an answer to my many questions. I do wish I had known of his taste in music though – it would have been good to exchange thoughts about bands such as Ten Years After, Jethro Tull and others of that ilk. And then, of course, there is Marmite – one of the great spreads!!!
